Q: Why are you selling the store?
A: Because our first love is music and music productions and we are blessed to also own a recording studio and production company. It is our intention to move more fully into writing, recording and performing our own music as well as working with other artists. Chuck has been in consumer electronics for almost 20 years and in retail for 30. He is ready for a new adventure. Thea is completing a book on Herbal Medicine and is in school to become a Certified Herbalist.
Q: Are you leaving Highlands?
A: Not immediately and we are staying in the vicinity with plans to build an even bigger studio near Sylva.
Q: What do you like most about owning the Radio Shack?
A: Being part of the Highlands community, keeping up with the latest and greatest in consumer electronics, getting to buy what we need for the recording studio wholesale, and our employees who are like family. Owning a business with ongoing potential is very rewarding, and the list could go on and on!
Q: Would you consider a partial, partnership buyout?
A: Yes! With a partial buyout the corporation could be
left intact with Chuck stepping down as President and Cynthia staying on as Vice-Pres/Secretary. This could give
a potential buyer time to build the business, with less initial cash
investment, until a complete buyout could be negotiated. In this manner, the name recognition that has been built through extensive advertising, and signage would continue as StarPony and there would be no interruption in what our dedicated and loyal customers have come to expect from StarPony Electronics, a Radio Shack Dealer.
